How do I watch a film on Audio Ciné Films?

Answer

How do I watch a film on my laptop or desktop?

To watch a film on the Audio Ciné Films Database on your Apple or PC laptop or desktop, all you need to do is click on the film you wish to watch, then click on the button that says "watch." The film should then load and begin playing in your browser automatically.

If, instead of the film playing in your browser, you receive the following message: "Error Starting Video: Error Code 626," you are most likely viewing the database on an out-of-date browser. Try updating your browser to the latest version before attempting to view the film again. You can also switch to a different browser if you have one on your computer, or download a browser. Audio Ciné Films recommends using the latest version of Google Chrome when using the database, as this is the primary browser that they use for testing. If this does not fix the issue, please contact us immediately. You can contact the Library anytime here.

How do I watch a film on a mobile device (phone, tablet, etc. . .)?

Android Devices

On Android devices, you will be able to watch the film normally, as with a laptop or desktop. As with laptops and desktops, if you receive the following message:

"Error Starting Video: Error Code 626," you will likely need to update your browser on your device. Audio Ciné Films recommends using the latest version of Google Chrome when using the database, as this is the primary browser that they use for testing. If this does not fix the issue, please contact us immediately. You can contact the Library anytime here.

iOS Devices

Unfortunately, ACF does not support playback on iOS devices at this time, including both iPhones and iPads. We recommend that you use a laptop or desktop computer instead.

What if I want to share a film with someone?

If you wish to share the film with others, click on the button that says "Share." It can be found beside the "Watch" and "Trailer" buttons when you first click on a film in the database, or immediately below a film while you are viewing it. There will be two choices, "Copy Direct Link" and "Copy LMS Link." Copy the Direct Link. You may share this link with anyone at the College. Please note, however, that the link will anyone who uses it to log in to the database. For details on how to log in to the Library's databases, please consult this FAQ.
