How do I buy a course pack for my class?

Answer

All of the course packs for the Fall 2023 semester are being sold directly from Eastman Systems. When you purchase a course pack, you will be given access to a digital copy, and you can choose to either pick up a print copy or have the print copy delivered to you (note: some teachers require that you have a print copy for in-class work).

How to buy a course pack:

  1. Go to https://epacks.eastman.ca/.

  2. Click Sign up at top of page.

  3. Fill in the personal information under Create Account.

  4. Answer question to prove I’m not a robot and click Submit.

  5. Fill in information for Billing address. Choose whether you want to have the course pack delivered to you, or whether you want to pick it up.

  6. click Continue to payment.

  7. Under Payment, enter your credit card information or pay through Paypal.

  8. Click Pay Now. You will then receive a confirmation email from Eastman confirming that your have purchased the course pack.

 

How to download the digital course pack:

  1. Go to your email account and open the confirmation email from Eastman. Copy the link provided under “You can download your eBooks from.”

  2. Click on the link to the course pack.

  3. Click on step 1: Create your free Adobe account here. This will create a free account you can use to access your books.
    Note: if there is an error message after step 1, ignore it and move on to step 2.

  4. Click step 2: Install Adobe Digital Editions for your device. You will need to use the Adobe Digital Editions reader app to view your books. 

  5. Locate your preferred platform (i.e. Macintosh or Windows) and click on it to download the installer. 

  6. Go to your downloads, click on ADE_4.5_Installer and click Continue.

  7. Under License, click Continue and Agree.

  8. Click Install, enter your computer password and click OK.

  9. Go back to web page that had Step 1 and Step 2 of the course pack download process.

  10. Click Step 3: Download your book access file here.

  11. In the pop up window, check “I want to authorize my computer without an ID” and click Next.

  12. Click Authorize and OK. The digital course pack will then download to your computer.

 

How to get your print course pack:

When purchasing your course pack(s), you can choose to pick up the course pack, or have it delivered to you.

If you choose to have it delivered to you, it will be sent to the address you specify. Note that there will be shipping fees included for this option. The minimum charge for shipping is $11.00.

If you choose to pick up your course pack(s), between August 17 and September 28, 2023, you may pick up your course pack(s) at the Library's Circulation Desk, Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. For this option, a $1 delivery fee is included in the cost of purchase. You will receive an email to let you know when your course pack(s) are available for pick-up. Please allow 2 business days between the time of purchase and pick-up.

As of September 28, 2023, you may pick your course pack(s) at the Eastman Office, Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. You will receive an email to let you know when the course pack(s) are available for pick-up. Please allow 2 business days between the time of purchase and pick-up.
