How do I watch a DVD on-campus?

Answer

DVDs can be borrowed from the Library. However, we recommend that you check our online streaming databases first via the Library page of the Marianopolis website (under "Films and music") to make sure that the film is not available there. Feature films can be found on both Criterion On-Demand and Audio Ciné Films. Documentaries, series, experimental films, and more can be found on Curio, Films On Demand, NFB/ONF, and CAN-CORE Academic Video.

If you need to borrow a DVD and you do not have a DVD player at home, it is possible to view any DVD from the collection while on campus. To do so, You have two options:

  • You can borrow a laptop with a DVD player from the TLT counter (A-358) Make sure you specify that you need a laptop with a DVD player, as not all laptops have them. You may borrow laptops for 3 hours at a time.
  • You can use the computer podium in any classroom to view a film while the classroom is not in use. A QR code that leads to a calendar listing what classrooms are free at what times is posted at Wayne's World and in the Library.
